The Concept
Timeless Beauty began with a question:
What if the greatest luxury is not youth, but time itself?
Created for TIME Aesthetics, the work explores our relationship with beauty, ageing and the one thing we continuously attempt to preserve, control and measure — time.
We count it. We divide it into years. We search for ways to slow its traces on our faces and bodies.
And yet, perhaps beauty was never about stopping time.
Perhaps it begins when we stop fighting it.
Timeless Beauty transforms this idea into a physical presence — a work that asks the viewer not to look for youth, but to become aware of the moment in which she already exists.
Maybe eternity is not endless time.
Maybe it is a moment fully lived.
The Gesture
The woman’s eyes are hidden beneath an oversized black hat.
The absence of her gaze is intentional.
She does not look outward. She turns the attention inward.
Her finger rests against her lips in a quiet shhh — not simply a request for silence, but an invitation:
Stop.
Be still.
Listen.
For a moment, there is nowhere else to arrive and nothing else to become.
The work shifts the idea of beauty away from the external gaze and toward something more intimate — the ability to inhabit one’s own presence.
The Shape of Time
Below the figure, the embroidery gradually changes.
Dense layers of thread begin to loosen, dissolve and fall into increasingly open lines. The silhouette carries the suggestion of an hourglass — of sand passing through its narrow centre and disappearing below.
But the movement is deliberately imperfect.
Threads cross. Lines interrupt one another. Knots remain visible.
Because time is rarely experienced as the perfect linear progression with which we measure it.
Some moments disappear before we notice them. Others seem endless. Some periods of our lives become tangled and dense; others pass almost without leaving a trace.
The knots are therefore not imperfections to be concealed.
They are part of time.
Why Embroidery
There is an intentional contradiction at the heart of Timeless Beauty.
A work about time is created through a process that cannot be hurried.
Every line exists because a needle has physically passed through the tulle. Every area of density is accumulated time. Every stitch represents a small, irreversible action.
The piece required hundreds of hours of handwork.
There is no shortcut capable of producing it instantly.
In this sense, embroidery is not merely the technique of Timeless Beauty. Time itself becomes one of its materials.
The transparent tulle adds another dimension. Light passes through the work, projecting the embroidery beyond its physical surface and allowing shadows, architecture and the surrounding space to enter the composition.
The artwork therefore never appears entirely the same twice.
Like time, it changes with the conditions in which it is experienced.
Beauty, Here and Now
Timeless Beauty was conceived for a place devoted to aesthetics, but it deliberately resists the idea that beauty can be reduced to youth, proportion or the absence of age.
A treatment may alter the face.
It cannot stop time.
And perhaps it does not need to.
The work proposes another understanding of beauty: not as something we preserve against time, but something we experience within it.
The greatest luxury becomes the moment we allow ourselves. The hour in which we stop moving towards the next thing. The silence in which we finally hear ourselves.
Not yesterday.
Not the person we hope to become tomorrow.
Here. Now.
Eternity is not endless time.
It is a moment fully lived.
